For tournaments listed as "WAITLIST" below, please register as you normally would but select your appropriate waitlist option. Select "Pay Offline" and we will request payment if the team is accepted into the tournament. 

Do not email FYHA with a request to be added to the waitlist.

FYHA "Class of Play" Guidelines
To ensure the best matchups and most competitive tournaments possible, we ask all teams registering for FYHA events to follow the "Class of Play" Guidelines below. If you are unsure, please contact tournaments@fargohockey.org for assistance. 

For teams outside of North Dakota please be sure to gauge the strength of your team before selecting the appropriate division. For example, if you are a Minnesota B2 team, you may consider the C or B2 divisions based on the projected strength of your team.  If your team is from Minnesota, here are some things to consider based on our experience...

• Outstate MN B1 teams are typically a good fit for the B1 division.
• MN Twin Cities B2 teams are typically a good fit for the B or B1 division.

North Dakota does not have C level hockey so ND B teams can register for the C or B division based on their skill level.

For Squirt International, FYHA tries to hold teams as close as they can to their specific tournament when appropriate. These guidelines can be fluid with older, more experienced teams.

If necessary, FYHA holds the right to move a registered team to the division we deem appropriate based on game results and competition leading up to the tournament.

TEAM FEE
The Fargo Youth Hockey Association has combined the registration fee and gate fee into one price to create efficiencies for tournament operations and the teams participating. The fee listed in the chart above is the total team fee to participate in our tournament. Team fee must be paid in US dollars. The Team Fee must be paid in order for a team to be accepted into our tournament. There is an option to pay via credit card during registration or you can select the Pay Offline option in the shopping cart to pay via check. 

NEW FOR 2024-25:  If you select to pay with a credit card, you will pay CC fees of 3.15 percent + $1 transaction fees.  

For the Squirt International tournaments the Team Fee must be paid by the Selection Date (August 27th) in order for a team to be considered for the selection process.

TOURNAMENT START TIMES
The Girls International 10U/12U & 4 Squirt International tournaments begin tournament play on Friday morning. FYHA will host an Ice Cream Social for the Girls International 10U/12U teams on Jan. 2nd and the Squirt Olympics events on the Thursday prior to each Squirt International Feb. 6, 13, 20 & 27. These special events are not mandatory.

Our WoodChipper (PW/BTM) & Girls International 15UA and 15UB tournaments begin tournament play at 2:45 PM on Fridays.

TOURNAMENT SIZES
The Bantam and PeeWee Woodchipper tournaments will all try to get to 16 teams in each division. There is a chance we only get to 12 teams. A cutoff date of 9/1/2024 for the PeeWee tournament and 10/1/2024 for the Bantam tournament will be placed if there aren't 16 teams. Teams who get dropped will be refunded. 

HOTEL INFORMATION
The Fargo Youth Hockey Association has partnered with the F-M Convention and Visitors Bureau to be our housing bureau for our 8 stay-to-play hockey tournaments. With the exception of the teams registering for our Squirt International tournaments, all teams who have paid their registration fee(s) in full will receive a link of available hotels for each tournament weekend.

The Squirt International hockey tournaments have a selection process so hotel information will be sent out to teams after the selections have been announced in September.  In order for teams to be considered in the Squirt International selection process they must be registered and have their team fee paid in full by August 27th. Teams will receive the housing information based on when they registered for the tournament(s).

What does Stay-to-Play mean?
We require all teams registered in our hockey tournaments to work with our local housing bureau, the F-M Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) to select their hotel for the tournament. Those teams who do not abide by this will not be allowed to play. The FYHA Tournament Committee will be auditing hotel rooming lists for violations.

Why we host Stay-to-Play Tournaments:
By partnering with our local F-M CVB we are able to provide the incoming teams a great experience with negotiated group rates and a guaranteed room block. Our community plays host to other large sporting events, concerts and conventions and by working with the CVB we are able to secure rooms for each team participating in our tournament. They take the headaches out of group reservations and will work with you to create the best experience possible. The F-M CVB has a well-trained and friendly staff who are ready and eager to assist you and your team with your housing needs. 

ATHLETIC TRAINERS
Athletic Trainers will be on site for CHECKING tournaments only. An emergency medical plan will be available at each rink’s score table. The reason we cannot provide trainers for all tournaments, is due to the wide range of rinks and staffing issues.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Once you have received an email confirmation that your team has been officially accepted into the tournament, there is a 48 hour cancellation policy. If you withdraw your team within this 48 hour window, 100% of your registration fee will be refunded. After the 48 hour window, a refund may not be issued. Once the tournament is within 30 days, no refund will be issued for any reason.

REFUND POLICY
In the event Fargo Youth Hockey is unable to reschedule or host a tournament, a refund will be provided. The Fargo Youth Hockey Association is NOT responsible for a team refund in the event of inclement weather or travel complications.

SQUIRT INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENTS
There is a selection process for all four of our Squirt International hockey tournaments. The Team Fee must be paid in full by 5 PM CST on the Selection Date (August 27th) in order to be considered for the selection process. The selected teams will be announced on Announcement Date (August 30th) via email.  Teams not selected will receive a refund of their registration. Hotel information will be sent out after the selections are announced and is based on when teams register.

For Canadian teams, please note that if you register for a Squirt International tournament and are not chosen, the refunded amount may be more or less than the amount below depending upon the bank issuing your card and the exchange rate on the days of transactions. The processing of the transaction is not handled by FYHA.
