Fargo Youth Hockey Association

FYHA transition team and committee members have been busy preparing for the unification of our hockey programs.  Below you will find a brief summary of key actions taken recently and approaching milestones.
 

Key dates/actions in June/July:

• June 16 – FYHA and FACYH Legal Merger Approved.  Membership approval of the proposed merger of nonprofit hockey organizations passed by a unanimous vote at the meeting last Thursday.  Both boards of directors of FACYH and FYHA also voted unanimously to approve the merger.  The members also voted to accept the proposed amendments to the Bylaws of FYHA and to officially approve a new slate of directors to serve FYHA for 2011-12 season.  A list of the new FYHA Board of Directors can be found on the website at: http://www.fargohockey.org/page/show/300007-fyha-board-of-directors.  A special thanks goes to all those who have worked tirelessly over the past several years to make Fargo hockey unification a reality!
• July 1 – Effective Date of Merger of FACYH and FYHA. 
• July 31 – Registration Targeted to Begin for 2011-12 Season.  Preparations are underway to have the registration process ready by the end of July.  More information will follow in the coming weeks. 

Members of our board and others serving on committees have been hard at work and making great progress on a number of initiatives that will be rolled out over the coming weeks and months.  This is an exciting time for Fargo hockey!

Meeting #1:

Time:  6:30pm - 7:30pm

Purpose:
Present and discuss the proposed amendments/revisions to Bylaws of FYHA, “Plan of Merger”, & hockey program overview for the 2011-12 season.

Meeting #2:

Time:  7:45pm - 8:45pm

Purpose:
FACYH “Plan of Merger” membership vote.
FYHA “Plan of Merger” and proposed amendments/revisions to Bylaws of FYHA membership vote.
 
Joint membership meetings for both FYHA and FACYH will be held on June 16th.  The leadership teams of the current organizations (FYHA, FACYH, Flyers, and Raiders) and the incoming Board of Directors/Transition Team of FYHA have been working hard over the past six months to prepare for the merger and unification of our hockey programs.  The purpose of the membership meetings scheduled to begin at 6:30pm will be to present and discuss the "Plan of Merger" of the two nonprofit organizations (FACYH and FYHA).  An overview of the proposed amendments/revisions to the Bylaws of FYHA that will govern the unified organization will also be presented.

During the second membership meetings scheduled at 7:45pm, both organizations will hold separate membership votes on the “Plan of Merger”.  All current FACYH members have been accepted as members of FYHA by recent board of directors action.  All members of FYHA will vote on the proposed amendments/revisions to the Bylaws of FYHA.  A copy of the proposed amendments/revisions to the Bylaws of FYHA will be posted on the website at www.fargohockey.org on or before June 9th.  We appreciate your attendance and support!
