15U Overview

For girls players born between June 1, 2008 and May 31, 2011.

SEASON SCHEDULE
*** The FYHA calendar is tentative until we communicate it's final. ***

Fall Camp starts Oct. 6 and our transition into 'in-season' programming will be determined by registration and commitment numbers.

In-season programming may begin as early as mid-October or as late as November 15, but we will have training sessions regularly starting in September.

15U teams will attempt to play 40-45 games which includes 3-4 tournaments for each team, but will largely be driven by when our rosters can be finalized and we begin the 'in-season' portion of the schedule.  The Freeze focuses on the game count, not the tournament count, in an effort to build competitive schedules for each team.  Fewer than three tournaments, or more than four tournaments, is a possibility in order to fill out this schedule.

This level is driven largely by the high school tryout process and girls are encouraged to make a decision on where they want to play prior to registering for the Freeze program.  This allows us to build a team and enter it at the proper level (A or B) in the NDAHA.

It is important to remember that Ice hockey is a team sport and the team-building process is the primary concern in the preseason.  At the 15U, Bantam and Junior Gold levels, which are the oldest age levels we offer, the team-building process still exists.  The Freeze are putting together teams versus trying to provide a spot for each player.  For example, If there are 22 players at the Junior Gold or 15U level, it does not mean we carry two teams of 11.  Especially if 16 of those skaters can play at the A level.  Likewise, if 16 of those skaters are at the B level, we build a B team.  We will not allow players to play at levels far above or below their ability, which results in poor experiences for the players, team and opponents.
