About Red & Betty Fowler:
The Late Red and Betty Fowler, long time Fargo youth hockey supporters, knew that kids who were active had less time to find trouble. As Red used to say, “Keep the kids out of hot water, put them on ice!” Red made sure any kid that needed gear only had to show up at his door and get whatever he needed out of “Red’s Box.” That box has been a legacy and the legacy continues today of hockey gear being donated and passed on to others who will use it.
In their memory, the Fowler family is taking the “Red’s Box” legacy one step further. We will hold our tenth annual hockey swap. Our goal is to see that every child has the opportunity to play the game of hockey and carry on the tradition that our grandfather started over 40 years ago. Here is the plan:
We are looking for all types of hockey equipment that is still usable. If you have some equipment in your bag, basement, or garage gathering dust bring it into the H.A. Thompson & Sons Arena and donate it so another young person has the opportunity to enjoy the game of hockey. If you need any equipment please come and find the items you need to gear your children up for this season.
** Your equipment donations may be tax deductible. Please consult your tax professional.
